Our Philosophy
People have used plants as a primary source of medicine for thousands of years. In fact, many “drugs" which are commonly used today are based on plant extracts. At The Herbal Clinic & Dispensary we strive to carry on the herbal tradition by embracing an holistic approach to healing with medicinal plants. We believe that in order to achieve good health the whole person must be taken into account including the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of what makes us who we are. Herbal medicines can then be used to support the body’s natural healing processes and promote a state of wellness and vitality.
The Herbal Clinic
When you book your initial appointment at The Herbal Clinic you will be asked to bring in a three-day diet diary, all current medications, recent diagnostic tests, as well as any herbal based medicines or nutritional supplements which you are currently taking. This will help us to assess your present state of health. The initial consultation usually takes one and a half hours during which time a thorough history will be taken. At an additional cost, herbal medicines may be provided in the form of tinctures, topical remedies (creams & salves) or loose teas. Both private and supervised student training consultations are available.
